DataOS 2 arrives this month. See it live on 14 September.

Faster, easier refreshes with DataOS 2

Written by Zak Wash

We’re excited to be releasing DataOS 2, the newest version of the data layer behind GrowthOS. Read on to learn more about how DataOS 2 will make it faster and easier to refresh your data.

See it before you get it

Wednesday 16 September at 11am AEST. We will demo the newest version of DataOS on live data, highlight the benefits and show you what happens on your move day. 30 minutes, with time for questions at the end.

Register even if you can’t make it. We send the recording to everyone who signs up.

What gets better

Much of DataOS 2 will feel familiar. Your data sources and historic data will not change, and most of your automated connectors will continue to sync data as they always have. Your existing taxonomies and campaigns will also be preserved.

However, there are some big improvements in DataOS 2 that will make it easier than ever to prepare your data for modeling:

  • A unified GrowthOS experience. DataOS 2 is fully integrated with GrowthOS. One navigation, one look and feel, a cleaner, simpler data experience.

  • Faster and steadier. We rebuilt the data pipeline that powers DataOS to make it faster and more reliable. Large data sets load quicker and imports run more reliably. No more waiting around for your data to load.

  • Automatic labelling with the agentic rules engine. In DataOS 1, you manually assigned labels to your data row by row. With DataOS 2, our agentic rules engine reads your data and automatically applies your existing taxonomy. If you need to make changes, simply create a new custom rule that automatically labels future data.

  • Anomaly detection and in-platform events. DataOS watches your sales figures and alerts you when a number moves in a way it should not. No more manually supplying event data, simply create an event in-platform if you know what caused the movement. Historical events will be unchanged.

  • Refresh whenever you want. Forget waiting for the next scheduled refresh to see fresh insights in GrowthOS. As soon as you are happy with the data that has been supplied, simply click the ‘Run Model’ button to start the refresh process and our team will take it from there.

Anything else I need to know?

To help you learn the new layout of DataOS 2, a small number of automated connectors, such as TikTok, will need to be re-authenticated to ensure new data syncs correctly. These will be clearly listed on your DataOS 2 dashboard in the ‘Needs Attention’ section.

DataOS 2 also does not support Data Source level approvals. We'll look to introduce a new and improved version of this functionality in the future.

When your move happens

We are moving customers in groups through November. Timing of your specific move will depend on the shape of your data and how much of your data is already supplied automatically. We’ll be in touch before your migration date to confirm it in writing and let you know if there’s anything you need to do.

What you need to do now

Review who has access to your DataOS account and tell your Data Solutions Manager if there’s anyone you don’t want to access DataOS 2 or GrowthOS. If someone else in your organization owns access decisions, forward this section to them.

Beyond that, nothing. Keep supplying data in DataOS 1 the way you do today. We’ll contact you if we need anything before your move.
